FAQS in Coon Rapids MN

How Does Chiropractic Care Help?

Chiropractic Treatment is a treatment to the body that promotes the nervous system (removing interference) to connect the brain to the rest of the body and allows the body to communicate to heal itself.

I didn't hear a sound. Does that mean the adjustment didn't work?

The sound during an adjustment is arbitrary and may or may not happen from the gasses of the joint capsule. The adjustment is far more reaching through stimulating the joint receptor sites which signal the brain activity to change the nerve supply, which is truly the most important thing.

Does Insurance cover Chiropractic visits?

Most insurance plans have at least some limited coverage for Chiropractic care. All policies have their own limits and coverage so the best thing to do is call our office and have our insurance specialist call to see what your specific coverage is.

How safe is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is VERY safe. Chiropractic is a natural treatment to enhance the body to bring about a better state of health. There are no drugs, or surgery or chemicals involved. A Chiropractor's malpractice insurance is some of the lowest in the medical profession, indicating it is one of the safest forms of healthcare.

Is Chiropractic care safe while I'm Pregnant?

Chiropractic care is very safe for pregnant mothers. In fact it is highly recommended to get adjusted during pregnancy to deal with your drastically changing body and all the abnormal stresses and strains, in addition to helping the body to get ready for the expansion of the birth canal when having the baby. We also find that it is a wonderful form of natural pain relief for low back pain and headaches without taking drugs.

Can I become addicted to Chiropractic adjustments?

The only addiction to Chiropractic Care is the addiction to "feeling good". The body is a living, moving set of systems that adapt to stresses from trauma, thoughts and toxins and in order to keep that body feeling great periodic checks are about maintaining the body to it's best potential. Patients can "quit" anytime but find that maintaining health is a process not something you just "arrive" at and then forget about.

Is Chiropractic safe for Children?

Chiropractic is very safe for children. In fact we have many families that realize that their children (just like their parents) have lots of traumas, toxins and thoughts that affect their health and need specific Chiropractic care. Children respond wonderfully to Chiropractic treatment. Their spines get out of alignment from all their daily bumps and bruises, which create pressure on their nerves and cause inner stress just like adults.

How much schooling does a Chiropractor have?

Chiropractors are highly trained in the science and art of treating the body by reducing nerve interference of the nervous system. They are required to have 4 years of Doctoral training after their undergrad degree including extensive classwork in biomechanics of the spine, adjusting, xray reading and systems of the body. They also have to take Chiropractic Boards to certify nationally to get their license. In addition, just like Medical Doctors they have to take yearly continuing education credits in order to maintain their licensure.

Can I see a Chiropractor if I've had back surgery?

Yes. The joints around a surgical fusion will be overstressed and within 5-7 years they too will degenerate and break down if not managed properly. A thorough examination would be done first before adjusting the area and of course the other areas of the spine could be adjusted as well.

How long will it take to work?

Every case is different and unique. Depending on the chronicity of a condition some relief can be noticed following the 1st session and usually within 2 weeks of treatment. But long term healing of a condition would be discussed in the report of the doctor's findings on the second visit.
